Veterans Gratitude Week is a national outreach and fundraising event that encourages yoga studios and instructors across the country to host donation-based classes to support the veteran community, especially those challenged by post-traumatic stress disorder and other trauma-related issues.
Founded in 2011, Veterans Yoga Project (VYP) is on a mission to support the recovery and resiliency of our veterans, military families, and communities. Using the five tools present in all VYP classes – breathing, meditation, mindful movement, guided rest, and gratitude – veterans build resilience against life’s ordinary and extraordinary challenges. For many of these veterans, VYP has supported their transition from post-traumatic stress to post-traumatic growth.
